In 1985, I opened Raymore Fabrics located in Raymore, MO. located approximately 15 minutes south of Kansas City, MO. This is where I got involved with the quilting community. My creativity and talents for sewing blossomed into to true love and passion for quilting.

In 1988, my husband Doyle retired from the Air force and we moved to Sedalia, Missouri.  Soon after moving, I opened the doors to one of the most respected and renowned quilting businesses in Missouri, D & T Quilt Shop.

Starting in a small bedroom in our house, I taught quilting classes, one customer at a time. Attempting to utilize all of my space, I was able to sell fabric, thread, a few embroidery blocks, limited floss, and a few other items needed for quilting.  I was first in line to register for all quilt shows and events throughout central Missouri, in hopes of spreading my good name around the quilting community.

In 1991, a room addition was built and I was able to move into a larger more developed space. In 1996, I decided to expand my space and now I have approximately 1200 square feet of the finest fabrics, notions, embroidery blocks. I am one of only a few businesses that sells DMC Floss.  I have spent the past 23 ½ years dedicating myself to fulfilling all the quilting needs of quilters in central Missouri, in addition to providing the finest products and the lowest prices.

Sedalia is home of the Missouri State Fair, therefore, it is easy to stay involved in the general community in addition to the quilting community. You can view a quilt made by D & T Quilt Shop at Sacred Heart Church located at 421 West 3rd Street Sedalia, MO. 65301. This particular quilt is a photo quilt showing pictures of the church before, during and after the 2005 remodeling. Also, all 999 church members’ names are placed on the quilt.

Because I have such a deep interest in my community I feel that being involved is important. I am currently a member of or associated with Quilters Travel Companion, United Sates Air Force Squadron Altus, OK Alumni Quilt (in progress), Family Reunion Quilt, Quilt Show  by Marshall’s Quilt Guild.

We are proud participants of the Ozark Quilting Trail!

It has taken me several years but I have successfully found several suppliers that have good quality fabric. These companies manufacture a wide variety of fabrics in an array of colors and prints.

Today, I am glad to announce I currently stock over 7000 bolts of fabric ranging from 100% cotton, flannel, batiks, 1930 prints, and much more.  In addition to fabric, notions are also important when it comes to quilting.
